Terms of Service
Welcome to Midwest AEC (https://midwestaec.com). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our digital publication, technical specifications, and referral tools. By accessing or using Midwest AEC, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Educational & Building Science Disclaimer
All content, articles, architectural diagrams, assemblies, R-value calculations, and code references published on Midwest AEC are provided strictly for general educational, analytical, and informational purposes.
Midwest AEC does not provide formal stamped engineering calculations, architectural construction documents of record, structural sign-offs, or municipal code enforcement certifications. Every existing building possesses unique structural variables, soil types, moisture regimes, and local microclimates. You should always consult with a licensed structural engineer, architect of record, HVAC designer (Manual J/S/D), and your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ / building inspector) before modifying load-bearing structures, altering electrical or gas mechanicals, or installing non-permeable envelope barriers.
2. Third-Party Contractor Matching & Referral Service
Midwest AEC provides contextual referral opportunities and interactive cards to connect homeowners and property managers with independent, third-party contractor networks (such as Modernize Home Services and Networx).
- Independent Third Parties: Participating contractors in these networks are independent business entities. Midwest AEC is not a general contractor, home improvement contractor, sub-contractor, or employer of any contractor.
- No Endorsement or Guarantee: We do not endorse, guarantee, warrant, or assume liability for the licensing status, insurance coverage, bonding, pricing, workmanship, quality, or conduct of any third-party contractor you choose to hire.
- Direct Relationship: Any contract, estimate, proposal, agreement, or dispute arising between you and a contractor is strictly between you and that third party. Midwest AEC is not a party to any contract or transaction executed between homeowners and contractors.
- Consumer Verification: We strongly encourage all homeowners to verify local licensing, active general liability insurance, worker's compensation policies, and references with their state licensing board before signing any home improvement contract.
3. Intellectual Property Rights
All original written text, proprietary architectural illustrations, technical cross-sections, data compilations, database schemas, and website design elements on Midwest AEC are the intellectual property of Midwest AEC and protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
